Image may be NSFW.I have to tell you, I get a kick out of seeing a pic of these Pi board's hanging by a string like that every time...
My Pi5 is hanging in the air, no case, see blow.
Since 85°C is never reached, no throttling.
I would really like to know whether temperature keeps below 85°C throttling temperature with your case ...

Then I think about all the "what case is best?" or "what case/cooler should I use to keep the board from catching fire and burning to ashes from a full load test?" threads, and it makes me laugh.
Every time.

I avoid cases for PIs like above, and yes, without a case there are no heat problems that you only get with cases.
So long I stated "I cannot understand why people imprison their PIs in cases".
But I learned about the protection argument, and issues with young cats.
The only Raspberry case I always liked and never removed is the "case" of my Pi400 Image may be NSFW.

P.S:
When I will get an NVME hat I have the freedom to put on top, or bottom, and no change is needed.
I learned from Liz that official NVME hat will be compatible with active cooler:
