Thank you for your very comprehensive replies (the same as you have been supporting me for years!)
You are right to correct me that VNC is not being withdrawn, I should have made it clear that I meant the 'free' version for RPi users. I do like the way that VNC works and because of the amount of use I get out of VNC, I think I will be opting for the single user Business package with both Direct and Cloud access, at least until Connect is available for all versions of RPi.
To answer the points you have raised:
All my Pi's are within my own LAN but I access them using VNC from both a W10 PC on my LAN and on an Android phone when out and about.
I currently have 10 Pi's although not all in use but the number I do have in regular use is higher than the 3 units available with the free VNC. This seems to have reduced as I thought it was 5 units previously.
It is encouraging that you have controlled a RPi3B+ using Connect and I will certainly keep an eye on the Connect progress as described by gsh above.
