It is a pipe, not a cable. It’s not to adjust anything on the fly, but it may be used to set an alarm if a value is exceeded.

Ideally there will be no rotation of the pipe during spooling, but because there will be some torque inherent in the pipe there will be some. So yes, the speed of rotation will be very small.

The OD of the pipe will be anywhere from 150mm to 500mm, so it will be fairly rigid and it has a smooth outer surface.

I’m interested in the amount of rotation, not the speed. Ideally in real time, but if it had to be post operation that would suffice.

I’m not expecting full rotations, but i can’t confirm that would always be the case.
