Beginners • Re: Mounting a hard drive without it having to be formatted

There should be no need to install the old ntfs-3g driver. The current kernel (yes, in bookworm) has the new ntfs3 driver enabled (as a module) which has much better NTFS support than ntfs-3g.
How would we even know that another few years had passed if there weren't yet another "new ntfs" driver for Linux?

How many have there been so far? 6, 7, ... ?
