General discussion • Learning Linux

Hello,

I'm new to the raspberry pi world. I bought a raspberry pi 5 several months ago and have been running the raspberry pi 5 OS on it so far. However, as I learn more and more about Linux, I'd like to install an operating system on my pi 5 that doesn't come with so many things pre-installed. I'm guessing that learning is done best when you install/configure things yourself. What operating systems are best for someone like me who's trying to learn more about how linux works? I tried installing arch linux for arm on my pi and hit a roadblock at a blank screen during boot. I don't think arch supports raspberry pi 5 yet.

Thanks in advance!
