PI I/O connections are 3.3V.
connecting anything above that voltage to your PI WILL DAMAGE THE PI !!
there are relay boards made for 3.3V I/O

I"d suggest using one of those.
- there are ways to safely connect it to a PI, using an interface circuit, but "bare" dont connect it to your PI.
