Instead being part of the standard Desktop install I think Pi Connect should be an optional install or alternatively, installed but services are in a disabled state.
After doing a fresh install on a Pi 5, I noticed it was doing a great job of increasing the size of my log file. To the extent I decided to uninstall it.
For most users, local access is all that is needed. Communicating with a server half way around the world so you can have a remote desktop to a Pi siting a few metres away seems overkill.
If user needs Pi Connect then sure, install/enable it.
