Have at least two other installs of motion done the same way, rock solid, up for months without loss.
Sometimes I can't reach the (remote) 3a+ any longer, after not streaming for >1 day, but I disabled power-safe for the wifi with what I could find.

And according to the output of iwconfig power management is off and link quality is 60/70, just one solid wall between 3a and AP.
The other 3a with identical setup is constantly streaming data to the net (piaware), never lost contact to this machine, although both 3a use the same access point (raspi 1b with bookwork and usb-stick as access point).
