Just a shot in the dark but do you have the display oriented properly? Could it be backwards on the Zero?
I dont think so display is on, after connecting power it shows that it starts up but nothing else.
How is the Waveshare connected to the Pi? Via the HAT, or are we talking about two separate displays?
Yes its connected via HAT
You should start by providing a link to the product in question.
Next action is providing the entry you've made to config.txt.
Clearly state which OS you want to use! In case of Bookworm I'm happy to help, if the OS of your choice is older you're on your own.

Waveshare tutorial might be outdated!
Ok so here it is
This is product and their wiki
https://www.waveshare.com/7inch-lcd-for-pi.htm
https://www.waveshare.com/wiki/7inch_LCD_for_Pi

and I add this dtoverlays on the end of the config.txt

dtoverlay=vc4-kms-v3d
dtoverlay=vc4-kms-DPI-7inch
dtoverlay=waveshare-7dpi

and also copy 2 dtbo files into /boot/overlays

everything according to the manual.

I can use bookworm I was just trying other OS to find where the problem is.
