that's how all the circular/nodged/rounded corner displays work. The OS has no idea of that.All of the circular display I've read the info/datasheets for work in the same way: they present to the OS/source as a square display and the unit itself clips anything outside the actual screen area.
To do anything else it would require support on the HDMI source for a signal with varying line widths and I'm not at all sure that is in spec.
You need to modify or reskin your chosen media player software to fit the visible portion of the display.
I've stated that already: if you want to have a circular 'skin' you will have to create that yourself (on a square background).
