I have a RPi running a cloud service, where I can't use the regular process of validating installation of a SSL certificate.
I use certbot to manually do the update, then add a special string in a DNS TXT record that's used for verification.
But it still requires that the RPi is connected to the internet, as the process is initiated on the RPi, uses internet access, and validates the updated DNS TXT record before installing the new certificate.
Maybe certbot/LetsEncrypt offers other possibilities?
