Thank you for your reply. I failed to mention I am running in a Pironman 5 case (I didn't think it pertinent but could be a problem) and actually have everything working so, as you can imagine, I'm hesitant to do a fresh install. I guess I'll wait until it stops working and then go back to scratch and do a full install from the latest image.start with a clean install
use whats in the gui first
menu -> raspberry pi configuration, just turn the screen saver on & reboot
try to stick with the current that the percentage are using, it'll be easier to get help when there on the same setup
while there are still people using wayfire & X11, it is not the default
