The 500 case is not designed to be opened. So having the components there would be wasted money for the intended use case.

Having a case that can be opened would make the case much more expensive.
Aiui, the moment the non-openable case is opened, the warranty is void, so it's definitely something we do not recommend. So would providing a kit or instructions mean that is no longer the case, meaning we would then be on the hook for warranty claims on broken cases or internals? It's a bit of a minefield.
the only solution i can see here, is to have a variant that has both the m2 slot, and an nvme, pre-installed from the factory
then the user never has to open it, so the warranty remains intact
