Troubleshooting • Re: Raspberry pi 5 power delivery

I would say it's more an issue of Raspberry Pi having chosen to take advantage of a part of the specification. I understand why and the specification allows it, and the specification does not mandate that others must support it.

I see it as less of an issue of what we have but more an issue of what it should be, how many consumers believe or expect it to be.
I see it as a perfect opportunity for someone out there who is tired of having to purchase official Pi PSUs to start a business making a PSU that work with 5V@5A.

And while at it, they should make power bank for that rating too as so many people come around asking for that.

Case solved.

Well, the obvious response to that is you're someone so go ahead. What's stopping you?

Trouble is that often gets you silence or excuses. Or outrage that said someone should actually do something rather than just complain about it.

Not that I'm saying this is the case here or that you (memjr) are doing that though.

Aaaand I'm both off topic and back to modern entitled attitudes (gimme, gimme, gimme. I don't wanna learn, I don't wanna share, I don't wanna help others. Just gimme the answer/solution). Sorry.
I was being sarcastic, referring to those who complain "why must I use a Pi PSU?" Image may be NSFW.
Clik here to view.
:D

I myself just reach out to a Pi PSU when needed or power via IO pins.
