Welcome, which world are you coming from?I'm new to the raspberry pi world.
It really comes down to what you want to learn. Hardware, operating system management, application programming.I'd like to install an operating system on my pi 5 that doesn't come with so many things pre-installed. I'm guessing that learning is done best when you install/configure things yourself.
I run only PI OS's on my RPI. One reason is that I'm not sure if I ran another OS if I would have the same access to the HW on the PI.
I also run Linux MINT MATE on an old MACbook. I personally liked the full installation and SW install support.
I find I spend enough time understanding and working with preinstalled SW like SYSTEMD, CRON, NFS etc. My focus is more application building in Python which involves access to services like SOCKETS and MQTT.
If your goal is to learn Linux System Management, then you may want to consider this Google search https://www.google.com/search?q=learn+l ... e&ie=UTF-8
