I can't say I am too worried about the state of play for Snek, support or future developments, but that might change if a serious bug emerges.I'd see if Keith's interest in Snek picks up again before committing development time to porting.
At the moment it's really just porting what there is regardless as an end in itself. I now have the 'posix' version building with 'cmake' so I can now play with a hacked version on the Pi to try things out on, which can then be added into the RP2 port. That's also good for observing and debugging what is being done and where the RP2 port may be diverging from that.
I've learned a lot about CMake along the way. Not just help 'arg001' provided me with but understanding how to build generated files when they don't exist or inputs change, skipping that step when they haven't. So it's not been wasted effort
That is a bit weird. He or someone involved still seems to be active as I noticed there were commits to Snek just two weeks ago.I was chatting to a Snekboard user last night, and it seems that immediately after (successful) launch, Keith kind of disappeared. With no mailing list or updates, users weren't too happy with the project. The hardware worked, but documentation and features needed attention
