HATs and other add-ons • SSD Not Appearing

Using Raspberry Pi 5, the official Raspberry Pi M.2 HAT+, a KingSpec NX Series NVMe PCIe Gen 3x4 SSD.

Drive icon isn't appearing on the desktop (even though Desktop Preferences, Appearance Settings, Mounted Disks is checked). I am also not seeing /dev/nvme0n1.

show the HAT cable with printing facing the outside of the cable. My HAT arrived with the cable mounted to the HAT with the cable printing facing the inside of the cable.

I power down the Raspberry Pi 5, remove the pi from the case and turn the cable around (so the print is facing the outside of the cable as mentioned above.) Put the pi back in the case, connect power and boot.

Still not seeing the SSD.

Any suggestions?
